October 10 Patch Notes & Moderator Applications

General Changes

  • Based on the results of our "Stun Changes Poll," players can now use potions while stunned.
  • We have fixed an issue where certain teleport locations could cause an infinite teleport loop on the client, eventually teleporting you back to one of your previous "non-bugged" locations.
  • When you open the client in windowed mode, it now centers on your primary screen.

Windowed Fullscreen Mode

  • Players can now activate "Windowed Fullscreen" mode in-game from the "Video" settings page.
  • This mode makes the game occupy your entire screen, matching your screen's resolution, while allowing you to do other tasks on your computer without minimizing the game.
  • Since this feature was only partially developed in UE2.5, we had to make several unexpected adjustments to fully support it. If it causes issues, we may need to make further changes or even remove it.
  • We're aware that certain screen resolutions might make the UI appear too small for some users, and we'll look into adding a feature to "scale" the UI later.
    • This won't happen for a while, as it will likely require significant changes to the existing UI code and I'd like to focus on implementing other suggestions first.

October 11 Patch Notes

  • Fixed an issue from yesterday's update that caused players to appear high in the air when teleporting or being moved to certain locations.
    • This fix may still cause some teleports to behave oddly because those teleports use outdated coordinates (e.g., players falling from great heights or being launched upward).
    • If this occurs, please report it, and we will correct the coordinates.
  • Items sold to the Mobile Box now appear in the Buy Back tab. However, items cannot be repurchased through the Mobile Box. To buy them back, you must visit an NPC store.
  • Items sold to the Mobile Box will expire after 5 minutes. If they aren't repurchased within that time, they will be lost.
  • Players can now use the Mobile Box to brew potions in non-safe areas, provided they are near a Potion Merchant NPC.
  • Players are no longer able to sell Ladian's Graces and Gem Pouches to NPC stores.
  • We have reduced the number of regular monsters in Frozenland.
  • Some minor localization updates have been made.

October 14 Patch Notes

  • We've fixed several teleport locations that were causing players to fall below the ground or appear high in the sky.
  • Various localization updates have been made related to "Enchanting" equipment, including the creation of Enchanted Sephiroth Gowns.
  • Some NPCs that could confuse or mislead new players (like fake quest NPCs in class villages) have been disabled.
  • Certain "Enchanting" NPCs have been slightly relocated (still within the same visible area) and now display the "[Enchanter]" title.
  • NPCs who enchant armors (e.g., Enchanted Sephiroth Gowns) now display a warning that the process will remove all current stats.
  • Fixed an issue with Eonic Weapons not glowing.
  • Fixed an issue with transmogged items not displaying glows (such as items transmogged with level 11 weapons).

Moderator Applications

Based on player feedback and in preparation for our Steam release we are currently looking for new player moderators. If you don't know what a player moderator is, no problem, we've prepared a short FAQ about moderators, what they can/cant do at the bottom of this post. Players who are interested in the position should apply by filling out an application on our Discord server (https://discord.com/channels/368579540546486273/1293173186556461117).

Application Closing Date: October 25, 2024

Moderator FAQ
  1. What is a player moderator?
    • Moderators are players who help guide new and existing players through Turf Battles. They are knowledgeable about the game and are willing to share that knowledge with others. They treat all players kindly and are held to a higher standard than regular players. As such, they are expected to set aside their differences and not only converse kindly but also encourage others to do the same.
    • This does not mean that moderators have to give out free items or anything similar. It simply means that they will actively try to answer questions as they arise, act as guides when possible, and encourage others to follow the rules.
  2. What can player moderators do?
    • Moderators can activate "Moderator Mode," which enables their messages to appear in a different color in chat. This allows other players to more easily identify them and seek their help.
    • After a probationary period, some moderators will also be able to issue short mutes to players who are actively breaking the rules in chat.
    • Abuse of any of these features will result in the loss of moderator status. This includes using Moderator Mode to promote personal messages for gain (such as, but not limited to, selling in-game items).
  3. Do player moderators receive any perks?
    • Player Moderators are given a free subscription on their moderator account; this subscription is automatically removed once they are no longer a moderator.
    • Player Moderators may sometimes receive access to a "staff-only" test server while we develop new content or make balance changes.
    • Player Moderators will gain access to the Moderator status on Discord, which also includes access to the "Moderators Only" channel on Discord.
  4. Are there any other expectations for moderators?
    • As mentioned, moderators are held to a higher standard than most players and are expected to fully follow the Terms of Service and encourage others to do the same.
    • Moderators are NOT permitted to share their moderator accounts with anyone else.
    • Moderators are NOT permitted to share any information regarding possible updates or discussions with GMs, or anything seen while on the staff-only test server. This does not apply if they have permission from a GM or if the information is already public knowledge.
    • Moderators who plan not to play the game for an extended period (2+ weeks) must give us a heads-up. We understand that life events can occur, and this doesn’t necessarily mean they will lose their moderator status.
