Website Changes

In preparation for Season 2 and Steam, we've upgraded our website's hardware and various backend components. These changes are primarily aimed at enhancing stability, security, scalability, and performance, ensuring a seamless experience for our users. Alongside these improvements, we've implemented the following bug fixes and updates:

• Fixed an issue where the "Forgot Password" page incorrectly populated the email field with "1" instead of your actual email.
• Implemented changes to enforce HTTPS connections across all our websites, regardless of whether you enter "http" initially.
• Implemented changes to ensure that all our websites use "www" in the domain, even if you omit it.
• Removed the option to upload custom profile images; instead, your account now displays the avatar chosen in your launcher (and vice versa). You can continue to change this avatar using the website too.
• Changed the sender of recovery emails to no-reply@eonicgames.com (previously some were sent from support@eonicgames.com).
• Various other minor bug fixes.

The Forums

We have made the difficult decision to shut down the Eonic Games Forums. Since the launch of our Discord, we have observed a significant decline in forum usage, with most users preferring to interact through Discord. Several factors influenced our decision:

• Discord has proven more effective in fostering community response and interaction compared to the forums.
• Discord continues to enhance its community management and functionality, especially recently.
• Managing the Forums has mostly turned into preventing and moderating daily bot spam, and it's in our best interest to focus our management/development time in other areas.
• The forums were not fully compatible with the backend changes made to our website.

FAQ

Why is the game offline during these website changes?

The website interacts with the game servers at specific intervals. Therefore, while we upgrade our website's hardware and software, the site may not be fully accessible to the game servers. Keeping the servers online during this period could result in data rollbacks, login failures, and other issues.

How long will the servers/website be offline?

Given the scope of these changes, it's challenging to provide an exact timeframe. However, we estimate it will take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours to complete all updates:

• This estimate includes a buffer for any unforeseen issues. If no issues arise, we anticipate a downtime of less than 1 hour.
• We may reach a point where game servers and/or parts of the website can be brought back online while we finalize remaining changes.
• During this time, we will provide updates via the patch-notes channel on Discord.
