Hello everyone, the test server is now back online with the latest versions of the Mystic Server & Triumphus Server databases (as of Saturday evening, July 16th). If you notice you are missing any items in comparison to the live server please let us know the items missing, the characters they were on, and the server they were on and we can look into it (although we aren't expecting any issues in regards to this).
We've decided that on July 25th (providing we don't run into issues with missing items) we will be re-enabling the beta NPC's on the test server so that players can continue to more easily test various other components of the game.
In addition to this, the following is a large list of changes that have now been pushed on to the test server. As always, we look forward to any feedback you have regarding these changes being discussed in the #game-beta-discussions channel of our Discord or if you run into issues/bugs regarding these changes those can be posted in the #game-beta-issues channel of our Discord (in addition to Support Tickets & the Forums).
General Changes
- Fixed a bug that caused players controls to lockup if you closed the Production Interface while typing in a quantity.
- The Production Interface has been reworked to match the other UI styles, the change in its appearance should be minimal.
- We've added the 3 missing hair styles for Nephilims (both Male and Female).
- The base hair colors of players have been corrected so they are similar to the live server.
- The Enchant Gem has been added to the game, it can be obtained through Gem Crafting (see Gem Crafting below) and boss events.
- We've increased the attack speed of the Blade Warrior Combo Splash skill.
- We've increased the attack speed of the Fist Warrior Clinching skill.
- We've fixed a bug that caused some attacks to Miss or be Blocked when they shouldn't be.
- We've reduced the move speed increase given by Warp Speed from 50% down to 40%, the reduced 10% has been dispersed through Dexterity on Fist Warriors. This means fists will depend less on Warp Speed and will have a faster average move speed. If needed, we can move more of the move speed from Warp to Dexterity based on player feedback.
- The Dynamic Finish Apprentice Skill has had its duration increased to 15 seconds instead of 12 and the cooldown reduced from 90 seconds to 60 seconds at level 10.
- The damage multiplier effect from Shield Exchange Transformation Skill has had its success rate increased from 35% to 60% at level 10. This means that 60% of hits while the Shield Exchange buff is active will deal 50% extra damage. The duration of the buff has also been increased from 10 seconds to 15 seconds at level 10.
- We've fixed some cooldown display issues with some Advanced Skills (Apprentice, Masters, & Transformation Skills).
- We've fixed an issue that was causing AOE's to deal very large damage vs players.
- We've fixed an issue that was causing various sounds to not play (most potions, gems dropping, various monsters, etc).
- We've fixed a bug that prevented basic skills from gaining exp/levels when they hit a target.
- We've fixed a bug that caused some NPC's (such as Bobby) to display an empty map in the World Map, even though the NPC is in Ladianes.
Critical Errors/Crashes
We've spent a great deal of time debugging and fixing some reproducible crashes that were happening on the new client. These crashes were being caused by various bugs in Unreal Engine 2.5 itself. Previously, the crashes happened 100% of the time when reloading adjacent maps (such as going to Soccer, teleporting to Lad Castle, then walking back to Soccer). This patch includes an experimental fix for these crashes. Our internal testing showed that they do fix the majority of the crashes, but we noticed that in some rare situations (seemingly random so far) we did get a critical error. We'll continue looking into crashes as they come up, but this fix does resolve a large majority of them.
If players notice any issues or crashes moving forward, please let us know and provide as much information as to what you were doing and where you were doing it. If you happen to be recording a video or streaming, video footage would be even better help! In addition, when you crash a "crash.log" and "CRASH.DMP" is saved to your games Bin directory, providing these files would also be helpful to us for debugging the crash.
Gem Crafting
- We've introduced a new Production Skill, Gem Crafting. Gem Crafting can be used to craft various gems, including the new Enchant Gem.
- When used, the Enchant Gem has a chance to add a stat to an item (like Sorcery, Magic, and Divine Gems). However, the success rate is higher than the other 3 gems and if the gem fails it will NOT remove a stat.
- To start, players will be able to craft the following gems:
- Sephiroth Gem: Requires Gem Crafting Level 0 + Refined Materials + Sephiroth Jr Gem
- Sephiroth Choice Gem: Requires Gem Crafting Level 30 + Refined Materials + Sephiroth Gem + Mix Gem
- Red Honor/Blue Tear Gem: Requires Gem Crafting Level 60 + Refined Materials + Jr Red Honor/Jr Blue Tear Gem
- Enchant Gem: Requires Gem Crafting Level 90 + 3 Sorcery Gem Pouches + 3 Magic Gem Pouches + 3 Divine Gem Pouches + 3 Mix Gems
Champion Monsters
- We've added new mini-boss like monsters to the game titled "Champion" monsters.
- Champion Monsters are mini-boss versions of other monsters that have larger health pools & higher respawn times, but reward players with better experience and drop rewards compared to their normal counterparts.
- They have been added to various different parts of the game where there is a large grouping of their normal monster counterparts (such as at Rest Area, in Ladianes).
- Depending on the level of the Champion Monster, they drop various quantities of Wind Flowers, Gems, and Mix Gems. The quantity of items dropped from these monsters increase as the monster level increases. Similarly, the quantity and rarity of the gems they drop increase also.
Quest Changes
- We've fixed an issue that caused the "?" and "!" symbols to continue to appear above NPC's even after a quest was completed.
- We've re-worked various components of the quest system on the back-end, these are mostly optimizations and shouldn't be noticed in game and were done so as to help properly manage the "?" and "!" symbols.
- When you complete a step in a quest it now removes all the quest items involved for that step (in-case you picked up extra).
- NPCs that have quests that can be constantly repeated (without a cooldown) now appear with gray "!" and "?" icons.
- NPCs that have quests that can be repeated after a certain amount of time (with a cooldown) now appear with blue "!" and "?" icons.
- Quests now show the level required for the quest in the title of the quest.
- Level 1 - 66 Quest Line changes:
- The quest line has been adjusted so that players reach roughly level 70 or higher once all quests are completed.
- All quests requiring you kill monsters, now only require you kill 5 monsters (previously 10 or higher).
- All these quests now award players with Wind Flowers, each quest awards 35 Wind Flowers (total of 1050 for the quest line).
- When you complete a quest, the Completed Quest description now tells you what NPC you should speak with next to continue the quest line, and at what level that part of the quest line becomes available.
- Level 66 - 100 Quest Line changes:
- Now starts at level 70 instead of level 66.
- The quantity of monsters you must kill have been greatly reduced.
- All these quests now award players with Wind Flowers, each quest awards 55 Wind Flowers (total of 660 for the quest line).
- When you complete a quest, the Completed Quest description now tells you what NPC you should speak with next to continue the quest line, and at what level that part of the quest line becomes available.
- We still have more changes to make for quests/quest-lines not mentioned in this update. We'll be making and releasing these changes before Phase 3 starts.
